During 2016-2017, I made a video with the Kayapo chief Tuira while I was conducting a study of Kayapo and Assuruni natives in the Amazon region of Brazil, focusing on body paints and cosmologies. Currently, I am working on its montage. Referring to the struggle for ecological and indigenous rights, Tuira talks about the environmental and social problems caused by the dam, highway and mineral exploration projects resulting in the deforestation of the Amazons, which are part of the native reserves. Millions of locals who have died from malaria, diabetes and tuberculosis since their first contact with the "white man" are now in danger of being completely destroyed by Covid-19. Destruction of forests and violation of wild animals in our country and around the world will result in many more deadly and infectious diseases like Covid-19 in the future.
