The title “Distant Points of Interest” is a reference to a tag that I came across on an optical device found in a public space in New York during these photo shoots. The screen, which creates a junction point between distances – just like the lens assembly that travels between the near and the far – and as a permeable communication surface that can convey information regarding the other place into the given physical reality, forms the starting point of this series as. During these days of quarantine we are going through, and thinking about the tension between touching, hands, the desire for and the danger of contact, and establishing a virtual connection, I decided to reconsider “Distant Points of Interest”, and I am producing its extensions using the sun printing method.
