Istanbul Modern Cinema showcases current films from Turkish and world cinema along with retrospectives of cult directors. Apart from film screenings, the museum also organizes exhibitions, publications, and talks about film history and contemporary film culture.

Istanbul Modern Cinema aims to present one or more original screening programs every month on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and continues to open a space for local and international contemporary productions while presenting films from the history of both Turkish and world cinema. In addition to film programs parallel to the museum's exhibitions, Istanbul Modern Cinema also organizes exhibitions, screenings, publications and talks on the history of cinema and contemporary film culture. In addition to its new programs, Istanbul Modern Cinema continues its programs that have so far attracted great interest from audiences, such as Count Us In!, which brings together prominent films of Turkish cinema with team-participated screenings, and the retrospective series All About, which hosts auteur directors who have made a name for themselves with their films around the world.

As our valuable viewers, we would like to remind you of a few things in order to make your cinema experience more comfortable:  

Istanbul Modern Cinema screenings are held on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. For our current programs please follow www.istanbulmodern.org.

• Cinema admission tickets can be obtained from the museum desk.
• On Thursdays, film screenings are free of charge. You can pick up your personal free entrance coupon from the museum desk.
• In addition to the cinema admission ticket you obtain from the museum desk, we kindly ask that you also pick up coupons for the specific screening you would like to attend.
• You will be asked to present your cinema admission tickets and coupons at the entrance hall to the screenings. Please hold on to your tickets and coupons, and have them ready to be checked before you enter the auditorium.
• Admission to the auditorium will begin at least 15 minutes before the screening begins. Viewers with valid coupons will be admitted first. Afterwards, unclaimed seats will be released to visitors next in line.
• Please note that we do not take reservations for screenings. You may pick up your cinema  tickets and coupons from the museum desk on the day of the screening.
• Please note that coupons for film screenings are provided along with an admission ticket. We kindly remind you to obtain admission tickets and coupons only from our museum desk.
